The Art of Slow
Tras-o-Montés, Portugal | Sept 20-26, 2025

Journey

to a hideaway haven in the wild and romantic Tras-os-Montés region of Northern  Portugal

Our retreat location is a one of a kind destination;  not a hotel, nor a guest house, but an off-the-grid wellness oasis.  Come behold nature, surrounded by the mysteries of this enchanted land, to slow down time and awaken to the magic of life.

Feeding your spirit with inspiration

An invitation of rediscovery

This retreat is an invitation to rediscover simplicity, savor the essential, and return to a gentler pace. You'll find your own rhythm and learn to heed the quiet calls of your inner self, as you wander through ancient winding footpaths, pause at meditation alcoves in the hills, unwind in the sauna, swim at the natural swimming basins, and sip tea by a warm evening fire.

A balance between structure and an organic unfolding of our days will allow for a meaningful personal experience, while being held softly in the arms of sisterhood. There will be plenty of time to retreat in your own way, seeking what you need in the nature, art, silence or whatever else you may discover while here.

Connecting with your inner radiance

Women thrive in community. When we take time away from our full lives for reflection, we reassemble ourselves and return home more of who we are at heart.  This week-long retreat, immersed in nature, will provide the support you deserve, to plug back into your feminine gifts of intuition, creativity, sensuality, receptivity and nurturance.

It is built on four simple, rejuventative pillars: SLEEP, BATHE, NOURISH, AND MOVE

SLEEP

Rest & deep relaxation are fundamental to our overall health & well-being

Simple yet luxurious wood cabins have beds that are equipped with all natural mattresses from CocoMat, fine Portuguese linens and soft wool blankets from Burel Portugal.

BATHE

By being more attentive to our relationship with water we raise our level of natural awareness.

Bathe in the Japanese-inspired bathehouse. Sweat it out in the traditional Finnish wood burning sauna & then jump into the cool, clean Tinhela river. Ecological soap & shampoo.

Travel

We will fly to Portugal on Saturday, September 20. The nearest airport to our retreat center is Porto (OPO). For east coast travelers, you can fly directly from Newark!  We will take the  1.5 hour journey from Porto to the nearby town of Vila Pouca de Aguiar together by bus/shuttle.

(*If you are opting out of our first night in Porto and traveling solo, I will help you plan your travel to the resort. In such case, I recommend scheduling your flight to arrive in Porto no later than 12 PM on our start date (Sept 21), to allow plenty of time to reach us, settle in, and ease into the experience.

Wine Tasting in the Douro Valley

I'm a woman of adventure and a hopeless romantic. My trip to the Portuguese countryside would not be complete without an escape into the rolling vineyards of the Douro Valley. The main producer of Portugal’s famous Port Wine and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, I look forward to the pleasure of roaming this exquisite landscape, nibbling and sipping the bounty created by years of rich culture and traditional viticulture practices.

You're welcome to join me here post-retreat, for 2 more days of memory-making, before journeying home. Arrangements will be made closer to our date of departure.
